Before joining an unfamiliar server it helps to know how much it will ask you to download. Now you can see it right on the server page.
What's new
The "Download size" block. In the right column of a server page: how much you will download on your first join, and how many files that is.
Only the custom stuff, no stock files. A server announces a long list of resources, but half of it is ordinary Counter-Strike files you already have in your game. We subtract those and show only what you are missing: player models, sounds, the map, textures and sprites.
File list. The "File list" button opens the details: how much each type weighs and what share it takes, with the files and their sizes below. You can keep a single type or find a file by name.
FASTDL badge. We show when a server has fast HTTP downloads — with them files arrive far quicker than through the game itself.
Why the size has a "~" in front
We take the resource list while checking the server, and the check happens on whatever map was running at that moment. A map is a file too, and its models come along with it, so on another map the number will differ. Below the block we say when the check was made and on which map, so it's clear what the figure refers to.
Checks don't run continuously, so some servers have no block yet: a few don't allow an external check at all, others simply haven't come up in the queue.
Thanks for using the project. More to come.
Connection list and position after a boost
As promised, "Connection stats" now shows not only how many players joined a server, but also who they were and where they came from.
What's new
Connection list. Click "Today" or "Yesterday" in the "Connection stats" block on a server page to open the list of connections: time and player nickname.
Where the player came from. Every connection shows its source: the "Search" tab, "Favorites", "History", the console or the game menu.
Position in search. If a player found the server in the "Search" tab, we show where the server was in the list at the moment of the click — for example, "#5 of 111". This shows how your position in the listing brings in players. The position is sent by newer NextClient versions; for older ones you'll just see "Search".
Filter by source. One click keeps only the connections from the source you need.
The list includes every connection, repeats included, while the counter still counts each player once per day. Times in the list are Moscow time.
Position after a boost ends
A fair return after a boost. Previously, when a boost ended, the server fell back to its old position — where it stood before the purchase, often at the very bottom of the listing. Now a server whose boost has just ended goes first among non-boosted servers, right after those whose boosts are still active.
Then as usual. Over time it gets moved down by servers whose boosts ended later and by servers recently added to search.
Thanks for using the project. More to come.
Connection stats on server pages
We added a "Connection stats" block to every server page: you can now see at a glance how many players joined the server today and yesterday.
What's new
Connections for today and yesterday. On the server page we show the player count for the current and previous day — an easy way to tell how alive a server is.
Counted by unique players. Each player is counted once per day: repeat connections don't inflate the number.
Next up: a detailed list of connections — we'll let you know when it's ready.
Interface and server improvements
We tidied up several things at once: explained the boost feature more clearly, refined the rules for adding servers, and noticeably improved how we poll servers and count players.
What's new
Clearer boost description. We rewrote the section about boosting a server — now it's obvious how the mechanic works and exactly what you get.
Refined adding rules. We adjusted the conditions for adding servers so there are no open questions or edge cases left.
More accurate server data. We improved bot detection and the server polling itself — the player count is closer to reality, with fewer "phantom" online figures.
Better on phones and older browsers. We polished the layout for mobile devices and gracefully disabled heavy effects where an older browser can't handle them.
Thanks for using the project. More to come.
